Was dying for a burger and not really wanting a chain. Took a shot on blue sky. I was in a hurry but man I wish I had sat down. The atmosphere inside is super chill. They have a huge selection of self serve drinks and good country music playing. I purchased the double bacon cheeseburger and the mix of onion rings and fries. Here is also where I would recommend just sitting down and eating. Everything was perfect. I was 20 minutes away from my hotel and by the time I checked in and got settled down the fries and rings were already getting cold. Not the restaurants fault. A learning opportunity for me. Overall quality was excellent. Burger patty was salty alone but when it all went together it was perfect. They use the potato buns (I think) so it’s a toasted sweetness to go with the salty The staff was amazing. I watched a lady in front of me get upset about paying for fried onions on her hamburger. The cashier apologized to the best of her ability but this customer was just not letting it go. Held up my order for 15 minutes so she could complain. All for onions. I personally would not have been so kind. When it was my turn the cashier did not even let the prior exchange phase her. Was joyful and kind while helping me make up my mind on what literally is I want one of everything on the menu kind of scenario. Clean Kind Amazing quality Great atmosphere And even better.... Cheaper than a footlong at a sandwich restaurant. Overall very satisfied. Will make this my regular stop from now on.

If you haven't tried Blue Sky, you should! The food is delicious! Classic burgers and fries along with other favorites, you can't go wrong! The onion rings are crispy, yet soft, and cut thin. Not to mention, their burgers are not only juicy and delicious, they are big!!

Best milkshake I’ve had so far. They’re made with blue bell ice cream so there’s nothing that can go wrong with this. I tried the vanilla and Oreo and they were great. Want to try the other flavors when I have the opportunity to. I know the burgers are great but don’t miss the milkshake. Get it with whipped cream.

I’m gonna help you decide!! So tonight I did something weird: I bought two hamburgers. Not because I’m starting a new diet (though I am open to it), but because I’m not from Amarillo and I was on a mission—find the best burger in town. The contenders? Blue Sky (BS) and Buns Over Texas (BOT). Both got a plain, no-frills burger because I’m a purist. Also because I needed to taste the burger, not the personality of whoever slathered it in sauce. Let’s start with Buns Over Texas. First off, solid single patty. The lettuce and onions were shredded like they just lost a fight, but in a good way. The bun? Buttery and toasted—basically the prom king of buns. I cheated a little and seasoned it myself before the first bite, but they’ve got a DIY fixin’ bar inside, so technically I was just participating in the process. BOT gave me flavor, crunch, and the mild thrill of mild customization. Then came Blue Sky. The building looked suspiciously clean, like a place that might overcook a burger and call it “gourmet.” But I was wrong. The single patty was hefty, cooked perfectly, and had real flavor—without me having to sprinkle on anything like a bored wizard. It was ready to impress straight out of the wrapper. Now, here’s the deal: both burgers were good. Add cheese, and we’re talking next-level. But if I had to pick one to bring to a deserted island (or just to dinner), I’m going with Blue Sky. It won on pure burger strength—no extras needed. So yeah, go eat a burger. Just maybe make it Blue Sky.

One dark and stormy night we visited Blue Sky as we were traveling from the west to the east coast. As we stood in line studying the menu, a local mentioned to us that "everything is good here." She said she especially likes the cheeseburger with green chilies, so that is what I ordered. My wife ordered a cheeseburger with chili, and we also got a combination shoestring fries/onion rings basket and two large drinks. Now, let me tell you about the drinks. Blue Sky has a good variety of soft drinks (and beer), but the thing that caught our eye was the iced tea. Adjacent to the soft drink machine were eight dispensers lined up, each containing a different variety of iced tea. Yes, eight varieties of freshly brewed tea! Who does that? I got the coconut iced tea and my wife tried the peach iced tea. Both were delicious! I had never tasted coconut iced tea before, and I found it to be quite refreshing! We sat down at one of the tables (the place was busy, but there are a lot of booths and tables available, so finding a seat was not a problem). A few minutes later our number appeared on a "serving now" screen and we picked up our order. The burgers feature 100% ground chuck, and they tasted as good as they looked. Both the green chilies and the red chili complimented the burgers nicely. Everything on the burgers was fresh and of the highest quality. The shoestring potatoes were tasty, although I prefer a fry with a little more crunch, but we both loved the onion rings! They appear to be hand breaded, and the crunchy exterior around the perfectly cooked onions could not have been tastier! Blue Sky has lots more to offer besides burgers, including salads, hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken tenders, and tons of appetizers. We also saw a couple shakes that another table had ordered and they looked like they came from a 1950s soda fountain, hand blended and topped with a generous helping of whipped cream and a cherry. We loved our visit, and my only regret is that there isn't a Blue Sky anywhere near where I live!

We came in about an hour before close and the staff were very welcoming. The food was fabulous. Delicious burger and my daughter loved her chicken sandwich. The tots were good too. Lots of tea flavors and several types of ketchup. The atmosphere was very laid back and casually fun. Great local spot and definitely recommend if your in Amarillo.

Nestled in the heart of Amarillo, Texas, Blue Sky has quickly transformed into a culinary hotspot for local food lovers and travelers alike. Located at 5060 Coulter St S, this inviting eatery captivates patrons with its efficient service, spacious seating, and a vibe that invites you to linger.

As I stepped inside, I was greeted by the warm embrace of country music and a laid-back atmosphere that instantly relaxed me. The decor exudes a friendly, welcoming energy that makes it a perfect spot for everything from a quick stop to an evening of indulgence with friends.

Now, let’s talk about the food – a dazzling array of classic burgers and crispy fries that are often regarded as nothing less than perfection. One standout dish is the double bacon cheeseburger, which boasts a harmonious blend of salty flavors complemented by the sweetness of perfectly toasted potato buns. My mouth waters just thinking about the juicy patties that customers rave about, often larger than life and seasoned just right.

The side options here also deserve a shout-out. The onion rings are thinly cut, crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside—comfort in every bite. Pair these with their hand-cut fries and you have a perfect duo that’s hard to resist. As Desire Castellon aptly put it, the food was excellent, and the service, efficient and quick.

And don’t overlook the milkshakes! Made with rich Blue Bell ice cream, they are an experience unto themselves. From classic vanilla to indulgent Oreo, these shakes are a sweet finale to any meal. As noted by Sai Samarth Patipati, they are best enjoyed topped with whipped cream, and I couldn’t agree more; they add an extra layer of creaminess that is simply divine.

Despite a small hiccup with one customer's experience at the cashier’s counter, the staff remains remarkably composed and friendly—serving each customer with joy and attentiveness. Your dining experience here is sure to be elevated by their kindness and efficiency.

In summary, if you’re in Amarillo and haven’t had the pleasure of dining at Blue Sky, you’re missing out on a gem that offers delicious food, a cheerful ambiance, and affordable prices. Whether you’re in a hurry or have time to sit down, make it a point to visit. I know I will be returning regularly to enjoy all the classic burgers, crispy sides, and those unforgettable shakes!
